Pixel - LGR, final accounts, and SEND
Online on Teams (a recording will be available the following day)
Starts: Wed 10th June 2026, 10.00 am
In this webinar we will focus initially on LGR, which for all authorities in two-tier areas will be an issue that will be dominating the agenda. We will look at:
- The latest LGR Disaggregation Model, which is now available on the Pixel website.
- The briefing notes on LGR, which were published via CCN, and reported on in the LGC and MJ. Again, these briefing notes are available on the Pixel website.
- Insight into how to disaggregate balance sheets for the new unitaries
- Any other questions about the finance aspects of LGR - and a chance to exchange approaches and concerns with other authorities going through LGR.
The first final accounts from local authorities will have been published in advance of the deadline at the end of June. Dan will give us an early indication of what these accounts tell us about the financial state of local authorities.
The High Needs Deficit Grant (funding 90% of the SEND deficits) was announced alongside the final settlement and gives local authorities an absolutely vital financial lifeline. Pixel has published a briefing note on the HNDG and we will briefly cover how the grant allocations will be calculated, and the likely scale of the grant payments.
We will also provide a short update on the changes we are making to the MTFP model, which will be released in early July.
