Webinar - funding and financial accounts for fire authorities
Online on Teams (a recording will be available shortly afterwards)
Starts: Fri 22nd November 2024, 10.00 am
Ends: Fri 22nd November 2024, 11.00 am
This is the first of our webinars on finance and funding specifically for fire authorities. Pixel will be holding regular webinars for fire authorities that will cover any funding announcements, and also the latest on the financial standing of fire authorities.
Following last month's Budget, Adrian will provide an update on the possible outcomes for fire authorities in the 2025-26 settlement, as well as over the medium term. Much of the focus in the Budget has been on social care funding (and the new targeted deprivation grant), but we will also analyse the decisions that will affect fire authorities. We will look in detail at the assumptions we are making in Pixel's MTFP forecasting model.
Dan will provide an update on the financial accounts that have been published by metropolitan and combined fire authorities. Dan's database of local authority accounts data provides a unique insight into the financial wellbeing of every local authority - and he has recently extended this database to cover fire authorities.
Finally, Martin Mitchell (from the Greater London Authority) will provide an update on some specific fire funding issues, particularly around the fire grants and likely levels of precept in 2025-26.
Shire counties and unitaries with fire responsibilities are also welcome to attend.
There will be plenty of time for discussion and questions after the presentations.
